Walking around the footpaths that travel through the terraces is quite a unique and personal experience. It's a bit like wandering around an English allotment. I found myself treading carefully through each individual plot with a great deal of respect and awe.

Domestic animals and wild life seem to thrive together here.

Below, a serin picks at the delicate seeds of a climber. Click on the images for a different or larger view.

 

 

A red admiral enjoys a bit of November sunshine.

Wild plants grow out of the rocks.........

Sternbergia lutea, southern fern, clematis, stonecrop, wild iris, valerian....

Even the foul smelling stinking aster is not out of place here and its pollen is enjoyed by a clouded yellow butterfly.

Signs of an old way of life are still to be found.

Mesochorio; a real paradise and an unforgettable experience.
